APPLICATION
The Customer agrees that no indulgence whatsoever by the Company shall constitute a waiver in respect of any of its rights under this agreement and under no circumstances will the Company be prevented from exercising any of its rights in terms of this agreement.
The terms and conditions contained in this document shall apply to the tour booking concluded between the Company and the undersigned client in respect of the tour, as more fully described in the tour dossier provided to the client on confirmation of the booking.
All references in these terms and conditions to “client” shall include references to an agent of the client with such changes as the context may require.
APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION
These terms and conditions shall be deemed to have been concluded in Musina, South Africa, and shall be interpreted according to the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
The client consents to the jurisdiction of the Magistrates Court of Musina in terms of Section 45 of Act 32 of 1944 as amended, but it is specifically agreed that African Wildlife Tours & Safaris at its instance may elect to institute proceedings in the High Court if deemed appropriate.
Notwithstanding the above, the client must at all times comply with the laws, customs, foreign exchange regulations, and other regulations of all countries visited on the tour.
BOOKINGS
The Company reserves the right not to confirm a booking until full payment reflected on the invoice has been received and all required documentation has been completed and signed by the client.
Any amendments or cancellations are subject to these terms and conditions.
Single supplement is compulsory for solo travellers on all accommodated tours.
Optional activities within National Parks or Reserves may incur additional conservation fees.
TOUR PRICE, DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT
A booking is confirmed once African Wildlife Tours & Safaris issues written confirmation.
- 50% deposit due 60 days prior to departure
- Full payment due 30 days prior to departure
Bookings made within:
- 60 days → 50% payment on booking
- 30 days → 100% payment on booking
Failure to meet payment deadlines may result in cancellation policies being applied.
Gorilla and/or chimp trekking permits require immediate full payment and are non-refundable once issued.
Prices may change due to external factors beyond the Company’s control.

CANCELLATIONS
All cancellations must be submitted in writing and acknowledged by the Company.
- 30 days before departure: No cancellation fee (excluding non-refundable permits)
- 10–29 days: 75% cancellation fee
- 0–9 days: 90% cancellation fee
Gorilla and chimp permits remain strictly non-refundable.
The Company may cancel a tour at any time, in which case all payments will be refunded. No further claims shall apply.
Minimum group requirement: 4 passengers. If not met, the Company may cancel and refund.
GUARANTEED DEPARTURES
Selected departures are guaranteed with a minimum of one confirmed booking.
If no bookings are received 8 weeks prior, the Company reserves the right to cancel.
Small groups (4 or fewer) may be operated with alternative vehicles for logistical efficiency.
CHILD POLICY
- No children under 6 allowed on scheduled tours
- Ages 6–9: On request
- Ages 10–15: Limited acceptance
- No children under 12 on Kenya & Uganda tours
All minors (6–16) must be accompanied by an adult unless approved.
Certain activities have age restrictions (e.g., trekking, hikes, game walks).
AMENDMENTS TO BOOKINGS
Changes are subject to availability and administrative approval.
Transfers between tours outside 30 days incur no fee.
Within 30 days, cancellation penalties may apply.
No refunds for unused portions of tours once travel has commenced.
